Item Description.
This listing includes a Zeiss Ikon Contaflex Super (old) SLR camera fitted with a Synchro-Compur leaf-type shutter and a Tessar 50mm f/2.8 lens, only.
This camera features the ability to replace the front lens element with a selection of supplementary lenses and an coupled selenium based light meter, as well as a helical-based focus ability. This camera was taken out of service by the previous owner, is not functional, and is being offered for parts, repair, or display with no returns.
Condition Assessment.
The camera is not in working condition.
The following issues are noted: the lens is not secured to the camera and easily comes out; the focusing mechanism seems to be missing some critical parts; the clockwork and other bits that sit directly behind the lens when it is properly mounted are missing; the light meter is not functional; the reflex mirror is missing; the winding mechanism is hammed; the internal state of the pentaprism is unknown; small indentation on the bottom plate.
The exterior is in excellent condition with no other damage noted.
Even the leatherette is in great condition.
The shutter does not appear to be locked up since turning the gear on the bottom of the back side opens both the aperture and the shutter blades.
I do not know how go wind this type of shutter when unmounted, but I suspect that the camera is required to make that happen.
