Sonora Wooden Tone Arm Complete With Rotating Reproducer (Very Rare)

$ 211.17

Availability: 49 in stock
  • Condition: This particular Sonora Wooden tone arm was probably used on the Sonora Period Models. It only has the one reproducer that rotates to play lateral and vertical cut records. Please see pictures that show the reproducer in those 2 positions. Overall the tone arm is in very nice condition with a very nice patina on the finish. The reproducer has new diaphragm gaskets (front and back). There is evidence of a repaired crack on the base of the tone arm (see close up photo). The tone arm swivels smoothly. The metal arm that would engage the brake will probably need to be reshaped since it appears to be bent a little. The metal arm will also have to be adjusted or tightened. Some of the dimensions are as follows. From the center of the base to the needle is close to 10". Overall length is close to 12". The small end of the base that would insert into the hole on the motorboard is close to 2 7/8". The larger part of the base measures close to 4 1/4". Questions welcomed.

    Description

    This will probably not work on the Sonora upright models due to the wide base of the tone arm.  I was hoping to use this on a Sonora Invincible but the base is too wide.  Please pay attention to the base diameter to see if it will work in the application you are considering.
    The Sonora wooden tone arms that show up on eBay are usually the ones that have separate reproducers for playing lateral and vertical cut records.  This is the first one I have seen with the single rotating reproducer.  Very hard to find.
