Solenopsis Geminata, 1q and 12w, Queen fire ant colony, Tropical Fire Ant

Solenopsis Geminata are an incredible powerhouse and definitely not for the more novice of keepers. Colony’s grow into the thousands very very quickly, they need extremely secure housing as there very well adapt to escaping! Queens are able to lay upwards of 1000 eggs per day with egg to worker time being as little as 4 weeks. They’ll do best at temps of 27c upto 29.5c when mature , a gradient is important still. The biggest piece of advice I am able to offer is preparation is key! And most definitely do not underestimate them.
