Description
Reproduction Tea Tray Co. Phonograph Horn CraneHere is a high-quality reproduction phonograph table horn crane. Manufactured originally by the Tea Tray Company of Newark, New Jersey, this company was well-known for their various aftermarket phonograph accessories, including horns, cranes, etc. This style of crane is very versatile, as it can be quickly mounted to most any of the Edison outside-horn cylinder phonograph models or Columbia Graphophones (Note: the Edison Triumph cabinet is too large to utilize this crane). It simply mounts to the underside of the phonograph cabinet and requires no permanent holes or fixtures to be mounted to the phonograph itself. The crane can support horns up to around 34" in length.
An image from an original Tea Tray Co. catalog displaying this style of crane is posted in this listing, courtesy of "
Phonographica: An Early History of Recorded Sound Observed
", by Timothy C. Fabrizio and George F. Paul.
These reproduction cranes are constructed of the finest materials, finished just like the originals with heavy black enamel and nickel plating.
An easy to follow installation sheet is included, as well as a new rubber horn connector and 4 rubber tack bumpers.
Overall, a great accessory for your phonograph.
