    Description

Cherie Ramsdell (aka CL Ramsdell) is a South Dakota artist who works primarily in antler, bone, rawhide, and raku fired clay.
Truly a unique pottery piece. The artist uses a deer tooth and what looks to be a raw leather strip to cap the raku pottery vessel. The tooth and leather are securely attached and do not come off.
The vessel itself is a dark blue with a greenish sheen to it. The artist carved two abstract flying birds on either side. The blue fades into a charcoal black at the base – there's an amethyst sheen in some areas of the black.
The bottom is signed and dated, " CL Ramsdell 1999."
    4.5"T x 4.75"W x 4.75"D
A really cool, early piece by an artist still creating beautiful (and more refined) work today. I like seeing early pieces artists make and see the evolution of their work. Cherie is an exceptional potter, and you can see that in her considered forms and style.
