    Description

This is the original Ooma Hub VoIP Phone Device, which supports unlimited phone service over your internet service.
A lot of ISP's have 'bundles' that charge the same for Cable, Internet, and Phone.  This is basically a one-time fee to take care of that last piece, so you just buy the plain Internet only service from your ISP.   (Cable over internet is a whole nother topic)
I have been using this device for the last several years.   Over time, I have noticed when replaying messages at the base unit at higher volume it gets somewhat garbled.  It's still quite understandable at lower volume, or (as I've become accustomed to doing) by replaying your messages online at my.ooma.com, and otherwise it works just fine - the call quality is quite good as always.
This has been one the best investments I've made making my 'land line' phone service so inexpensive it's been worthwhile to keep it despite everyone now having cell phones.   No more worry about tapes filling up with messages either (anyone remember those?)
Ooma is happy to sell you their upgraded services, which include all kind of things like activating the 2nd line, blocking spam calls, and more.
But if you just want to save money on a land line, this is the way to go - you still end up paying a few bucks a month for taxes, but that's it.  Plug the phone line into your wall, and it works with all your existing phones.
Also just FYI, Ooma does charge a small one-time activation charge for used equipment like this, but remember you are still saving a lot over buying new.
What's in the box: The Ooma Hub unit, with it's power supply adapter and a phone cord.  There's another device (not included) called a Scout you can buy to listen to messages from another place in your house.
