    Labeled People's Republic of China & Numbered
    Measures about 6 x 4.5 x 2.5      Weighs 9.3 ounces
    Lift off fitted top with gold-tone medallion affixed to center
    The wood is stained a rich brown with a mahogany hue & g
    lossy lacquer finish
    Lined in silk     The silk is beige with a pinkish hue in places
    This box is old & well loved
    My research, possibly inaccurate, dates the mark on tag to 1960s or earlier, though I AM NO EXPERT
    My efforts to improve appearance were limited to using Pledge
    The wood & construction is sound, the top fits properly & without warp
    The finish is crazed throughout, with many areas of lacquer chipped off
    Scuffs, scratches, dings & dents all over
    The silk inside the top & base is padded with no holes and there are stains & marks throughout
    The silk sides are not padded and are in place, though irregular
