This vintage / old Chinese hand carved wooden box is ideal for jewelry or treasures, and is in very good condition. It is super-clean and hand carved from solid sandalwood or some type of mahogany. The wood has a warm, mellow patina. The carvings on the top and front depict a scenic landscape filled with domestic scenes, dominated by trees, houses, and some people. The other sides have carvins that depict nautical seascapes with sailboats. There is one small fastener missing from the locking hasp's backplate, on the upper part of the latch.
